Using Clay Dust to Create a Solid Victorian Floor Tile

Victorians were the first ones to use clay dust instead of wet clay in order to make floor tiles. They realised that the china clay would be much lighter to carry from Cornwall (where it was found) all the way to Stock-On-Trent where the clay industry was developed and potteries were located.

It also resulted in a much more solid floor tile.
